Which direction does the 1/2 Marathon follow?

The Half Marathon starts at the entrance to the park at Point San Pedro Road. The course begins to the left for an approximate three mile loop along the water’s edge. After passing the park, the road begins its series of rolling hill descents along the road. The course turns right off the road and circles Turtle Back Trail for the one mile loop before continuing down the road for another half mile or so. Turn left at Back Ranch Meadows and step onto one of the world’s most special places, the Shoreline Trail. You follow Shoreline Trail for the loop back up all those rollers you already came down earlier on the parallel road (including our very special Hammer Hill at mile 11 or so). After crossing back over the road, you enter the back side of McNear’s Beach along the water for a very memorable, fast finish.

  • 7 miles road, the rest is trail
  • Total elevation climbing is about 1500’+
  • Time Limit = 3:45

Which direction does the 10K follow?

10k starts at the entrance to the park at Point San Pedro Road. The course begins to the left for an approximate three mile loop along the water’s edge. After passing the park, the road begins its series of rolling hill descents along the road. The turnaround point is at Weber Point, where you go back up and over Hammer Hill (staying on the road) before entering the back side of McNear’s Beach along the water for a very memorable, fast finish.

  • All road except for .4 mile of trail down into the park to finish line.
  • Total elevation climbing is about 1200’+
  • Time Limit = 2:45

Which direction does the 5K follow?

5k starts at the entrance to the park at Point San Pedro Road. This course, all road, turns to the left and follows the water’s edge. The turnaround, just at the little park, brings you back to enter McNear’s Beach Park. Gradual climb at the entrance, pass the guard gate & then descend Cantera Way to the great lawn, the expo, and yes! the finish line.

  • All/mostly road, flat path and grass at the park
  • A little elevation change back down into the park
  • Time Limit = 2:00
